The reason the NFL combed through over 60,000 emails is because the league was researching potential misconduct in the Washington Football Team investigation. While snippets of Gruden’s emails have come to light, the person he was corresponding with - former Washington executive Bruce Allen - has not had any of his own quotes or responses revealed publicly. Through the whirlwind that has been Jon Gruden’s email scandal, there is one small piece of information that gets conveniently glossed over: Gruden was never the subject of the email investigation. And in that time, he’s reportedly collected dirt on owners around the league and commissioner Roger Goodell.Ī recent report from ESPN claims that Snyder has said he’s gathered so many secrets that he has enough ammunition to “blow up” the league before anything may happen to his position with the Commanders. Nevertheless, Snyder has owned the franchise for 23 years. Given the multiple investigations he is facing, it feels like a matter of when, not if, Dan Snyder loses ownership of the Washington Commanders.
